Free Online Investment Stock Portfolio Tracker Spreadsheet

What is this Stock Portfolio Tracker in a Nutshell? The stock portfolio tracker is a FREE Google Spreadsheet hosted at Google that can do the following.

Every deal in Forex trading can often be made or broken due to the speed at which it is performed.

The Foreign Exchange

Read Part 1. Singaporeans Investing Cheaply with Exchange Traded Index Funds. Today I was told a heart-breaking story by a Singaporean woman I work with.

Yahoo finance for Australia does not appear to work. I am not sure which stock you are refering to. Hi, Thanks a lot for putting so much effort into this. It has been really helpful, especially for a technically challenged person like me. I have my past transactions, i need to somehow gather the past stock price and then calculate market value lets say end-of-month price of past-portfolio mix. Any ideas how to do it? Your spreadsheet is amazing and so easy to use! So many people appreciate it..

I would like the cash to be reflected for example when i make a contribution to the investment account… then when i buy a stock i would like the cash to reflect the purchase of the stock, and vice versa when the stock is sold, and when dividends are received… Is the spreadsheet made to reflect the Cash in the account? Hi David, thanks for the compliment. My spreadsheet is made flexible but i must have thought about what you want to do.

I decided against it because it will make people very confused about how i want to do it. Have a good one, david. We usually buy this in USD with a deteremined exchange rate at time of purchase.

Thanks Oliver , I would put it as usd, but if you are adventurous you can put it under the sgd part as well! Sent from my iPad. Kyith My investment Blog: One question, I invest in stocks in many different currencies, how is it best to track these I like seeing pnl in USD. You will still have to manually enter the original forex rate though, unless someone else here knows how to pull historical forex rates.

I also really love your work on this portfolio tracker. But I also would really love to be able to include short sells. I hope you will be able to incorporate some day as I have been unsuccessful in trying to customize my copy!

I have a question about how to modify the Stock Summary tab to show a view of what the portfolio cost based looked like at a particular date.

C ,0 ;1 ,0. Also, in the US, taxes on capital gains are paid at different rates depending on whether the holdings are long term held for 1 year or more vs.

This would be a great feature to break out gains by short term or long term. I am really excited to use your spreadsheet to track my portfolio. Thank you for putting this out there.

One problem I am having is that the last four columns 52 week and day stats on the stock summary sheet are not pulling the data from yahoo finance. One question, I want to manage it locally, for which I have to download it to Microsoft Excel which does not recognize formulas such as arrayfunction and filter.

What is the solution? Use this formular in cell N3 of the Stock Summary wsheet. Afterwards you can drag down. Thanks for sharing this Mike, I was struggling with getting an alternative and this worked a charm.

Just wanted to know if there any possibility to add interest cost as well, if the stocks are bought with borrowed money. My cost will change everyday. The interest will accrue from the date of purchase till date of sale. I hope I am clear.. Please see if you could find some way out!

Thanks for the update wrong me. Users will now use SGX: The first is inclusion of forex rates I created an extra column on the transaction sheet for the exchange rate when I bought the stock, and another column on the portfolio sheet with the current exchange rate.

Sorry to ask what may have been answered many times and a while back but I cannot find the answer; what symbols do I use for Yahoo Quote and Google Quotes and where do I get these from? Hi, wonderful spreadsheet, thanks a lot. How do I add one sheet per account? A little help and advice. I am now interested in HKD stocks listed on hong kong. Could you advice how I can start a new tab that tracks HKD and link back the information to the summary page? I used the one for usd as template for duplication, and changed all the usd to hkd.

However, at the transaction HKD sheet, the list of stocks in the drop-down remains as the ones in my usd stock summary. Could you advice how to change this part? Thanks for the reply. Would you please help? Many thanks in advance. Hi Kyith, excellent job. You make me thinking to migrate my existing MS Excel portfolio files to this Google format althought my current copy is pulling data from web without much effort.

But we always like some sexy stuffs. Just wonder when you hind this? Finally saw your note after post a comment here. Still trying to understand some of the formulas in Google spreadsheet! Will definitely share with more people out there. I have been trying to copy the format to Excel but realised that too many formulas go unrecognized in Excel.

Hi Chatime, would it be possible for you to share an Excel file which pulls the data from Yahoo? When I pull data it downloads too much. Probably your Excel file has implemented a way to neatly arrange the price data. Hi, This is a wonderful spreadsheet. Trying to work with it now. My question is it possible to track various stock markets like HK and Philippines and reflects local currencies as well? HK stock exchange is supported. Philippines look to be not supported.

I notice Philippine stocks not supported by both Yahoo and Google. Would you know if I can use Bloomberg instead? Thank you so much for sharing.

If Bloomberg have a free feed that i can tap that would be good. As far as I know there is no way. Thanks Kyith for your help. I hope Yahoo and Google would support the Philippine Stocks soon. Again thank you for sharing. Hi, is that the Tokyo Stock Exchange? I suspect they mean the Toronto Stock Exchange. This is available through google. Just tested—while google finance displays as TSE: Reading elsewhere I found it is necessary to write.

TO and this does work. It is unexpected, as this stands for Toronto, Ontario, a common abbreviation for the geographical location of the exchange…. Perhaps it is a software limitations hence the quote.

Google Spreadsheets is great for comprehensively tracking the Toronto TSE, including mutual funds, which Yahoo does not. For a couple of years Google was botching the job on getting its accurate Finance data into the spreadsheet for a number of Canadian registered ETFs even some popular iShares but seems to have it back in hand again.

Many thanks to the author for the template. Hi Thanks for this great spreadsheet, but i tried and maybe the only one out that that cant make it run, what happens is i tried 1 counter with all the transactions and stock summary , but something is amiss.

SI , it will overwrite the formulae. By default you do not have to touch Yahoo Data Ref. Yahoo Data Ref draws the data from Stock Summary.

Hi Kyith, yes, i would need some help to get this to run, ive just revert back yahoo data ref to its original form, do you need to click a button for it to start loading data into it?

You dont have to click any buttons. Would kindly need you to help me take a look again, Thanks alot bro. If you are free, allow me buy you coffee man. Hi, thanks for the spreadsheet, it has been very useful for me. May I know, I have been updating based on your previous version, and would now like to update my data records to your new version of the template.

How do I do that efficiently? Do I need to copy and paste all the data over to the latest template again? Hi Kyith, can you assist me with my question on the updating of your template to the latest version? I would also like to update the spreadsheet to the new version without entering all my data again. I currently have version 1. My version is also 1.

How do I update to your latest version in the most efficient manner? Great spreadsheet you have, and many thanks for the effort! What a great spreadsheet! I have been looking for something like this for years after Microsoft Money ended. I have a problem though.

I have tried re-propagating the formula by dragging the blue cells in row 2 down for both pages , but still not working. Have shared the spreadsheet with you, please kindly take a look, thanks! I just copied the spreadsheet over to my Google Docs.

I am only seeing the document information through the version history. What am I missing here??? Thanks for the great spreadsheet and it does help me as it differentiates from other portfolio trackers by tracking transactions. May I know how the different indicators above, near, below are defined with sensitivity and how they could assist in decision making? Currently I have customized my portfolio by adding an additional column at Ref sheet Stock Summary seems fine too.

It have 3 columns, above stock price, below stock price and alert column. The alert column will show appropriate message when it matches one of the condition. You may want to consider using their script or customized your own and also by adding new column such as percentage change as well. Not sure if everyone share the same sentiment as me? Nice to see your reply. Not sure if these script can work with your spreadsheet, if not you may want to consider using formulas or other built-in function which can make this work?

Hi, I was wondering if the excel gurus amongst you all have figured out what ms excel formula to put in the transactions tab in columns H previous units and column K previous cost when the spreadsheet is exported to excel. The cell in column H has to pick up the last cumulative units in column i for the stock code on the left of each row.

Similarly, the cell in column k has to pick up the last cumulative cost for the stock on the left of each row from column N. If you can make it work, please private message me or share with us all. No one I have asked seems to have a formula for me. Hi, Thanks for replying.

I am trying to decipher the formula so I can drag and drop it down the column s because I could not make it work. From my understanding, it is saying if the row is the same row, return zero. If there is an error, return zero. Now the lookup formula is where I am encountering some difficulty comprehending:.

Alternatively, if I was to drag the formula down, what would the formula be in row 5 for both the previous units and previous cost cells using the following as a simple example:.

Lets say the first 3 rows of the transactions tab are purely purchases so rows 2 to 4 row 1 is the heading are purchases of 3 different stocks. Lets say in row 2 we purchased units of ABC stocks. What would be the formula in row 5 for previous units if I sold units of the same stock that was purchased in row 2 ABC stock so we should be able to return as the previous units in cell H5 and cell I5 would then just be units of ABC stock.

Alternatively, is it possible to email me the googlespreadsheet downloaded to excel with the first couple of rows of the transactions tab with the formulae dragged down for the 2 columns previous cost and previoius units so I can see what is happening? Then drag formula down the column.

Hi, I lazy is there anyway i can add a new sheet Commission sheet which cal the Commission charge and on Transactions sheet i can select rather than manual cal? I think you can always open up a new sheet for that but commission varies so you may really need to customized it.

Hi Kyith, I just added a stock but realised the live prices are not loading. It works now after following the steps. How would one use for stocks in other countries?

NS pulls the Google price but not from Yahoo. This is a stock on NSE India. NS but the formula does not seem to be working for this stock. Would appreciate if you can take a look and comment. Like the example Stock Summary screen shot under the Conclusion portion on this page, some of my stocks under the Units and Costs column are grayed out.

At one time they showed the correct amount but for some reason they have now grayed out. It seems to occur randomly and to random stocks.

Do you know what causes this? One day everything looks good and the next I get errors in fields where I have done nothing.. Mike the error was due to that the formulas for rows below being tainted. What you need to do is take the second row blue cells drag them all the way down to repropagate them. Hi cuylar, I think its rather hard to implement it. That is why I would prefer the person to manually carry out those transactions.

Thanks for the fast response. I believe you that it would be complex. I am exploring the spreadsheet tonight, this tracker is brilliant! Hope it is useful. The reason I came up with it originally because I thought there should be such a spreadsheet in the market. I have been using your portfolio tracker in a paper trading contest. I notice that the portfolio calculations break if you enter short sales. But, based on your style I doubt that you intended it to be used for shorts.

Hi, thanks for coming up with such a great spreadsheet. Could it be that I am not entering the data in the summary tab correctly? Hi, thanks for this very useful spreadsheet.

Can you give me a copy of version v1. So would like to see how exactly you did it. I am thinking using category as different accounts. Thank you so much Joseph, I hope its been helpful or inspires something that you can customized to help yourself.

Hi kyith Thanks to provide so great information to us. I am using standard chartered online trading with no minimum charges. Not sure why this happens. I am using a Mac. Appreciate advice pls and thanks for the great work! Thank you so much putting together this. I really appreciate the hard work and then sharing with the world, this is amazing thourght.

I wanted to use this sheet as MS Excel sheet. I am not a excel savvy person so having hard time getting to work in excel. Hi, thanks again for the wonderful work. Hi John, i am not sure if it will be easy or difficult, it depends on your understanding. If you look at the sheet Yahoo Data Refs you will see that there are a string of letters at the back. Add the 2 you want in, then at each Stock Summary, modify the vlookup to grab the approporiate column. I would preferably like to have this on the YTD sheet and potentially something that happens similarly on the monthly sheet.

Thanks for any insight. Hi Kyith, thanks for responding so quickly and thanks for such a great tool. I will tinker with the sheer and see what I can figure out. I have just started using this and think that its a fantastic tool!! I also think it could be useful to have a function that provides an annual return figure, say at the end of a financial tax year or calendar year, so that the percentage theoretical return could be seen.

The only way I can see around this is to run multiple sheets: I feel that that may help to see how stocks are doing on an annual basis. How do I update the spreadsheet to your newest version?

Hi Miker, strange it used to work. Which company are you talking about here. Hello, and thank you for a wonderful tool. In Canada, to get the maximum of the tax system, we must have different accounts. This sheet is amazing. I am having some trouble factoring in dividends to my past holdings. Any insights into how to do that? Thanks for sharing the amazing spread sheet!

How can I go about resolving this? Thank you, Kyith, for so selflessly sharing this. I signed in with my email address but it did not auto update the prices. How do I update them? Thanks for the great spreadsheet. I was just wondering how everyone handles new cash coming into the account for investing. Would this be considered buying cash or selling? I guess simplest thing is to add it manually in portfolio summary section to account for cash on hand.

As I am new to this I had another question. Do you have a way to track annualized or quarterly returns both realized and unrealized. I have also modified the template a little to differentiate interest income vs dividends as tax implications are a little different here in Canada. Not sure how to capture this in yearly total.

We have tax on interest that is taxes like income. Local Dividends are taxed according to a formula and are taxed at a lower rate. Capital gains on sold stocks are taxed at half the rate of interest income. There are also withholding taxes for US stocks that apply in taxable accounts but not sheltered accounts. Annualized or quarterly returns are a separate thing. I was hoping to track all in one database rather than implement another system.

Thanks for all the effort you have put it. I have been trying to work out couple of things which I have not found solution yet: GoogleFinance function provides historical data, but I did not find a way to formulate data such that it could automatically generate uptodate portfolio value graph. Have you planned to add this functionality? Do you know whether these are available using GoogleFinance or is there a way to fetch them from Yahoo Finance?

With regard to the spreadsheet, when i input dividend in the transaction sheet, the stock summary side which show the particular stock, the units and costs are blank out. What did i do wrong? Many thank for your time.

Can I use this tracker for stocks I trade mostly on EU exchanges? If not, any plans to add stock exchanges from other markets? Hi John, which exchange are Yo talking about.

As long as you can find the stock symbol on yahoo finance it shoukd be usable. Hi there Kyith, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately many of stocks in Helsinki is not on Yahoo Finance. Would it be possible to edit this tracker to use another site e.

You can however manually enter the last price. Hi Kyith, is there a way to get price from Google if I want it to be on excel? I downloaded the sheet offline, yahoo work but google price is not there.. Ok thanks… do you have plan to do a offline excel version? Google always shut down their service as they please…. Like your emphasis on Free Cash Flow. Do you deduct both in arriving at FCF or just the former? Thanks for this excellent tool.

I have investments in different stock exchanges mostly in Turkish stock exchange and Swiss stock exchange. Any possibility for this edit, or maybe you can offer me a way to do it myself? Hi also noticed that 1. Am I doing something wrong? Hi Andrew, there is nothing wrong with that. Let me see if i got the bandwidth for the next year. Below is the formula currently in use:. As one who has worked with spreadsheets for 29 years, I admire your work; however, there is a problem with transations.

There is no apparent means to specify which lots one is selling. I have been trading for quite a while and it is important to be able to sell certain lots rather than FIFO. I manage several large portfolios and what I did was to modify your spreadsheet to simplify things as well as serve my own specific needs. I appreciate what you have done and as one who is not an expert, though I am becoming quite skilled lol in Google Spreadsheets it was very informative to utilize your spreadsheet.

I meant to say that should you want to review what I have done, let me know. Thanks for the feedback. When i started this, I find it difficult to compute what is my cost price. My brother who does backoffice told me why not just compute the average cost and let it be. FIFO or Stack, end of the day it is the same asset. I guess it might be different for you and hope that is helpful. I am just curious, cause Quicken does the same way, how do we accomodate selling the early units over the later ones?

I just hope folks as experience as yourself can use it as a blueprint to help themselves. I try to bridge a gap where the formulas applicable to google spreadsheet and excel is a little bit different. Hello Kyith and thanks for the prompt reply. I believe Interactive might be available in Singapore since they are an International brokerage. Before I used Investment Moats, I used an excellent piece of software to track my purchases, etc.

The software still functions and it is similar in nature to a spreadsheet with many optional columns. I am attaching 2 jpgs: Yes Interactive Broker is available and I thought a full fledge platform will be better than my spreadsheet to manage this. I want to be very upfront on this: I use this spreadsheet and Quicken concurrently and i find that i like the spreadsheet more to be honest. But quicken is all good.

I have a feeling that is not gonna be doable on spreadsheet. I actually do not use your spreadsheet for purchases. I use it to display what I am looking for. I have been doing technical analysis for around 12 years and am pretty good at it.

Worden allows one to write formulae that one can activate to select certain stocks meeting various criteria. I have written or adapted around of these for my use. The main thing for the FIFO is to have a display of the current holdings in a portfolio showing the purchase price and date of the purchase.

This provides the necessary data for when and if a sale takes place. How easy is it to learn about updates, and to move to a new version of it? O, unfortunately this is not a full fledge application. You may need to keep a link to the share workbook to see if the release notes have any changes. Any help will be immensely appreciated… Thanks again for your work and your willingness to share. Can you modify the formulas to the new spreadsheet so that it will work under the new format?

Thanks for posting your work. The help text shows about 5 functions being discontinued. Hi Kyith, I have a few suggestions for improving the spreadsheet if you ever want to provide some enhancements. No need to make the user input the dividend price per share. Make that automatic based upon the number of shares and the dividend payment. Therefore I currently have to calculate the dividend paid per share.

Support multiple share purchases I noticed this in the discussion below about a month ago. So when I go to sell some shares, the numbers are all averages and I have to manually calculate cost, profit, etc. Maybe create another sheet containing a list of multiple purchases, with each line item containing a check-box. This way the user can select which ones to use. Thanks again for taking the time to create and support the spreadsheet. I find the first one to be what is offered by many application and perhaps they are right that this is the direction to take.

Thanks for the reply, Kyith. I was suggesting that instead of averaging the cost and profit as the spreadsheet does now per stock, the spreadsheet calculates actual based upon selections of which lots of a specific stock to sell.

These lots could be listed in a separate tab. For example, if I purchased FORD five times, and I wanted to sell lots , the spreadsheet would calculate the actual costs and profit, rather than the average as it does now. Hi jerry ,I hear you and our friend who said this previously. Let me think about this and I felt that the mechanics of this might put an extreme performance problem on the spreadsheet.

Can anyone explain this? I have a fee in my statement where some of my funds are sold to pay for the expense I think that is how it works. I enter the info in but it does not seem to affect anything. The Yahoo Ref page seems to only have 57 rows of auto generated formulas. When I enter the 57th or 58th stock, then the stock summary starts showing NA. I tried adding an additional row by hand and that fixes the NA formula returns on the stock summary. Is there any way to generate additional rows for the Yahoo Ref page, or do they all need to be hand keyed?

What I would do is to take the formula in a2, cut away, then paste it back, and they should continue generating. I tried the cut and paste fix that I found in another post, but that did not restart the process, so I just modified the formula and added a column to generate the row number and that got me going again.

Then you so much for this spreadsheet solution. Once I get all of my data in, I can see creating a number of new reports will be very simple. Sorry for the late response. Was pretty tied up. I am glad you manage to figure it out and for slightly more savvy spreadsheet users like yourself, I can see this spreadsheet delivering alot of benefits. I received some cash in lieu of fractional shares.

Can I find out why you cannot sell bni cause it looks to me its a straight forward what price they sold bni to, as in what price it was acquired. If I understand you alright, you suggest that the exact price the BRK stock was recorded in should be the same price BNI was sold, and the cash I received for the fractional share should be recorded as dividend? My idea is to take it as a sell of BNI on the day of the transaction.

Then a Buy of BRK at a specific transacted price. Kyith, I have another question. Unfortunately I do not remember having that option to compare the benchmark. Perhaps a comparison to SPY, where for each buy and each sell we record in a separate column the closing price of SPY, so gain and loss can later be calculated for each portfolio sell and also for each SPY sell.

Hi Daniel, I never thought of it that way. However its good to implement, just that I am afraid it will confuse my users. They are from a diverse base and there are a large part that are still foreign to spreadsheets! Nevertheless I will try to implement it on my own to see how. If you look at my first sheet notes, i did try to implement a XIRR, which i took it out because the computation is just so heavy!

Currently the stock portfolio tracker is unable to carry out something like that, however there are people that have adapted it that way. Hi Alex, in the transactions that is where you record all the actual dividend transactions. If the company increases the payout you just have a transaction that shows greater payout than previous transactions.

The last dpu at stock summary shows a projected dpu. It is for estimation of your total portfolio yield. What is more important is the details at the transactions.

How do I adapt this excel for short sell. Currently the type are only four. Can I add a fourth option: Short Sell and Buy to cover? Let me see if I can dig it up. Would be grateful if you could send over the one with Short Sell and Buy tocover options. This work is worth donating. I think you should charge a fee for this excel. Maybe you can just make it into a excel version and charge for it. I will be happy to pay. Please do let me know once you have the excel with the Short Sell option.

I was trying to do it on my own but its difficult for me. I was looking at my current figures, and it seems the units are correct. Excellent sheet — very intuitive and easy to use, even for a newbie. And the added benefit of using it on the cloud is the auto-update of stock prices. Thanks for your efforts!

A fan of the spreadsheet especially since microsofts portfolio manager is going away and its replacement is awful. I still have much more data to import and was wondering if Google Sheets is really this limited in its performance. Thanks for the spreadsheet.

Would you do a cash div for the whole dividend value then a new transaction for the full shares you actually got out of the drip and take that out of cash? Hi Ian, I think I would do that. We have scrip or drip over here as well and they are really take the cash and put it back to work. Have been using this great spreadsheet for a while and hoping for some more assistance. I open the spreadsheet daily primarily on 2 different desktop machines, but the amount is the same on both not a local device caching issue.

Happy to share my spreadsheet if required. But can I find out if after the processing did they give you the correct value? Hi Kyith, thanks for the quick reply. Yes, after the processing happens the values are correct.

My workaround at the moment is to not do a lookup and to instead open the portfolio sheet, wait for it to update, then manually input the value into my other spreadsheet, not ideal or seamless….. Ah I see you want a quick reference. I think I understand your solution and I think its crumble some but at this moment not much solution here. Sounds like I will have to live with it for now.

Most things improved with the new version of google sheets but the updating of prices has slowed a lot. Thanks for the confirmation. JD actually it looks slower with the process bar but I felt its actually better handled.

My main transaction sheet is rows and on previous one it will just show a working…. And sometimes it will not work. On this one it is much much more predictable. Yes, I agress with the improved predictability of where the updating is at when the sheet loads.

The progress bar certainly helps. I have over rows so even when it was less in the old version it used to look loaded for a while and then suddenly change without warning. One thing that seems to be missing is fees. I see you have transaction fees but what about fees that are charged by ETFs? I remember in older versions you had fee included in the buy, sell, div pull down menu.

I believe that the transaction costs can be used for commissions. It depends very much on how you want to input this. Each transactions is 25 bucks so i put that in the transactional cost. Should I mark the as Dividends of the stock? Hi again, This is great tool and besides enabling to follow my portfolio also enables learning Google spreadsheet. I have been inserting my transactions since I faced to couple cases that my portfolio company has split itself to two different companies.

Typically the old one continuing with old name and the second company getting a new name. Number of shares will be same for both companies. Is there anyway to implement this transaction or should I create a new transaction type for this?

For rights issue, they are usually a Buy transaction at a discounted price, so what you can do is to key in another Buy transaction at the discounted price. If you do it correctly, what happens is after the rights issue, the price should fall to the the ex rights price. This should be made up by the shares you purchase at discounted price. Hi Kyith, thanks for the reply. Regarding the right issues, in some cases I have sold right issues instead of actually purchased new shares with discounted price.

Therefore I cannot use Buy transaction. I have now marked them as dividend, although they are not exactly dividends. For the spin off case your suggestion for the new stocks is very good and obvious, but If I change the old purchase transaction, it changes the cash flow calculation from the original stock purchase date onwards, which is not nice. Do you have any other suggestions? I too would like to see: I may be doable if return is followed only on annual level, but still quite laborious exercise.

And the question is can you automate to get historical values from Google finance or Yahoo. I used your formula at the header to correct it, which worked. However, the cumulative cost section is still wrong. I manually added the numbers together for that particular cell. Will this cause any problems subsequently? Or will I be fine?

I got the 52 wk range to work, but I am very curious to know how do you do the day chart? That uses the google function: E3 is my ticker symbols. Thank you for the amazing portfolio. A quick question, is there a way to track portfolio cash in flow and out flow so that the return data can be accurately calculates?

I am just subtracting and adding s to cash manually at the moment. Hi David, the cash is difficult to auto adjust. In this scenario, it clearly means that you have not invested as well as in the first scenario. In fact, what is your return?

So basically the question is: Sorry to hijack your question David. Your spreadsheet is awesome! I tried to create one from scratch but eventually found yours which is way more complete. Thanks J for clarifying. What i did is to try to compute the cash inflow and outflow, and aggregate up to give the XIRR.

I tried adding two new sheets and then adding them to the portfolio summary. Thanks once again for the GSpreadsheet. I had been using this for a year now. I was having some doubt in the last input row.

Not sure if you saw my previous comment, but the same error happened for a new stock that I added. Had to erase the formula and put in figures for it to work. Wondering if you would happen to have any solution for this? Hi there, Really enjoy your site and the effort you put into it. I think there is an error in fetching the yahoo share price. Thanks for any suggestions. Hi Tristan, so sorry to hear that. I observed my own template and it seems ok. Hi Kyith, thanks for your reply.

There seems to be a lot of idiosyncratic behaviour going on in google sheets. Hi Tristan, on nov , i changed my template to the new google spreadsheets because it seems they are changing permanently to it. Hi Kyith, thanks for having a look. Yahoo Data Ref not updating some times. Your new template opens in chrome on mac, but causes safari to crash.

I might try migrating my modified sheet to your new template and opening it in chrome and see if that works. Thanks for taking the time to have a look at this for me. Hi, can I request a margin call section where the portfolio can have LVR on each stock to get a portfolio LVR and show how close you are to getting a margin call. First of all, thank you so much for this wonderful spreadsheet. For instance, it reflects that I am getting yield on costs of Unfortunately, as of now, none of the spreadsheets seem to calculate on google.

Always get the same message. Any help is appreciated…. Recently, the spreadsheet stopped working. First, it does not update with new prices from Google or Yahoo. Plus, any time I try to enter new data I get the error message. Sorry, Google Sheets has encountered an error.

Some of your data on this spreadsheet may have been lost. Hi Steve Australia is supported. For google use in this way: Thanks for your effort to create this speadsheet. I have a question… I would like to track my initial amount startup money and then subsequent contribution…. Hi Wheat, what i did is to have another sheet to handle the Cash transactions. Thanks Kyith for your response. I was trying to add few more columns for total debt, equity, total asset.

Actually I want to calculate debt ratio…. Do you have any idea how can I import it from google or yahoo finance? I can get a table where it gives debt from yahoo finance but that table has all other information which I dont need?

I suppose even the yahoo data only have dividend yield and PE. I just started using this recently. How do i add it in? This is brilliant Kyith. Thanks in advance buddy,. What do you mean where to find the summary. On my stock portfolio tracker, the profit and loss, dividends are tabulated under Stock Summary sheet, while the transactions for the stock, say ascendas whether it is buy, sell or dividend will be at the Transactions sheet.

Found it in the Stock Summary sheet. I mean, why are those shares in those categories? Hi mattsun, those categories are what I used to compartmentalize some of the stocks I owned. You might have your way of doing it. You can go to the ref sheet to change. I have them in those days because I kept things simple by looking at them as either growth or more dividend yielding.

Hi, Thanks for the great spreadsheet. Something what Google Finance portfolio is having. I thought about adding and will continue to evaluate. The reason why i do not add is because i am afraid that i will confuse my users. Some just want to track whatever they buy. Does it work for only specific browsers? Upon opening it, Excel detected a bunch of errors and corruption with the file.

It prompted me to make the repairs and I let it. When Excel attempts to repair a workbook, it makes a log of the issues it found, in XML format. Some parts of this workbook may have been repaired or discarded. I saw your instructions on how to fix the problem of not getting updated pricing from Yahoo!

This is now the formula for [Yahoo Data Ref]: And this is where I stop. Hi Jeff, this is a Google spreadsheet and only works in Google. Do i have to do something in google docs to get the prices updated? Like click on something? Or are they supposed to update in real time? Hi Taylor, what ticker symbol are you trying to update and how are you doing it. Perhaps a screen capture here and I can help you with it.

Some Forex Brokers operate independently, but others operate under a regulatory system. For those who are under this system, they must follow the rules of the regulating commission in their country. Part of the regulations for their brokers include having to present fiscal reports to the commission.

Most likely, you will be much safer with your investment when you use a regulated Forex broker. Forex Brokers may charge for their services in more than one way. Your research should start with giving careful attention to and examining the details of different offers given by different brokers, along with the best deals involved. As you go along, create a checklist of what you need covered. Find out who the reputable Forex brokers are. It is very easy to wind up with a broker who either has not yet established a reputation, or perhaps has less than stellar feedback from traders.

Be patient and take the time to find out what traders think of certain brokers, before choosing one. Ending up with the wrong broker is a factor that can, and more than likely will, cause you as a trader to loose money.
